Principal's Message

Dear Chrysler Family,

Welcome Back!  2018 has already started with a strong start.  Our daily attendance goal of 98% was reached on the second day of school!  Way to go Chrysler CUBS!  All classes will be placed in a random drawing and a primary and an intermediate classroom will have a lunch time pizza party!

I am happy to announce that our School Site Council (SSC) and English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) have reviewed and approved our most recent Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).  The SPSA outlines our goals and how we will be allocating and prioritizing our state and federal funds to meet our three student centered goals.

Our three SPSA goals are:

1.  Effective instruction focused on positive student outcomes,

2.  Increase parent and family involvement, and

3.  Provide a positive and safe learning environment.

In addition, we have added the new "2017-2018 Josephine Chrysler Parent and Student Calendar" via Google Calendar.  This calendar includes important events for the entire year!

Our Health and Wellness policy encourages scholars to bring healthy snacks to school rather than Cheetos or Takis- as they are not considered healthy or a good source of nutrition.  Please provide your child with a healthy snack like plain yogurt with fruit, a granola bar, or pieces of fruit that they will enjoy.  Our scholars do a lot of learning throughout the day and they need to supplement their brain and body with good nutritional snacks.

Please note that cupcakes, cookies, and cookies will no longer be permitted on campus to celebrate birthdays as it does not meet our District's Health and Wellness policy.  If items are brought in to share with a class the items will not be approved to be entered into the classroom.

Lastly, I invite you to attend our next SSC and ELAC meeting on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 3pm to review the remaining budget and meet the needs of all learners by sharing great ideas.  The agenda will be posted in our school office seventy-two (72) hours prior to February 1st so you can see what will be on the agenda.

Remember to contact your child's teacher for any support, questions, or concerns as your child's education is our priority and we need your support as well.

I look forward to continue a great 2018!

Miguel Espinoza, M.Ed.
